Christmas In July - Ornament Classes Every Saturday






 
 




Christmas in July! Ornament artist and crafter HAND MADE BY DAWN  will be doing either ornament technique demos or teaching a project all five Saturdays in July. Dawn sells her ornaments and demonstrates her techniques at festivals all over the metro Atlanta area. Come to the shop and see her Christmas tree full of crafted ornaments for sale.

July 2 - Demonstration of hand cutting paper ornaments (a.k.a. Scherenschnitt). Ongoing from 11:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. except for a lunch break at 12:30.
July 9 - Learn how to make a Norwegian Paper Star. Materials will be provided. Classes begin every 30-minutes starting at 11:00 a.m. with a break for lunch at 12:30 p.m. The last class will start at 4:00 p.m. Participation is first come, first serve.
July 16 - Demonstration of the technique used to create Temari - Japanese Thread Balls. Ongoing from 11:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. except for a lunch break at 12:30.
July 23 - Introduction to crocheting. Learn the basic chain and a single crochet stitch. If you are a fast learner, you can try half-double or double crochet. Yarn and crochet hooks will be available for use during the class which will last up to an hour. It is recommended that you reserve a spot for this one by calling the shop at 404-326-7306. Classes begin at 11:00a.m., 1:00p.m., 2:00p.m. and 3:00p.m. Otherwise, participation will be first come, first serve.
July 30 - Learn how to make Tin Can Paper. This is a fun and easy twist on making sheets of handmade paper, or you can choose to make a tin can paper ornament. Wear something you don't mind getting messy, just in case. Classes begin every 30-minutes starting at 11:00a.m. with a break for lunch at 12:30p.m. The last class will start at 4:00p.m. Again, first come, first serve but you can reserve a spot in advance by calling the shop.
